simplelist is free, open source software, to be installed on your own Linux server. It will be robust and reliable.
simplelist's mailing list data/configuration files will be clean, well-formatted and well-documented plain text files, with well designed directory structures, good ease of use / security tradeoffs for file permissions, RCS/ChangeLogs where appropriate. List admins will be able to edit these files directly (e.g., in emacs) and/or use an admin.cgi, interoperably.
simplelist is being designed by Paul English who got tired of the pain to setup and manage a new email list via over-engineered, ugly software such as mailman.
